Description
The field trip will include a transect across the southern Adirondacks to examine the structures of the Snowy Mountain Dome and Piseco Lake Shear Zone. These structures are developed in AMCG rocks at Snowy Mountain and Shawinigan-age granitoids in the Piseco Lake zone. Discussions in the field will include structures, petrology, geochemistry and geochronology of the meta-igneous rocks, and the tectonic significance.

Registration
No formal registration is required for this field trip, however, we ask that you send a brief email message to Dr. Valentino with the names and email addresses of those planning to attend. Instructions will be sent to the email addresses provided in advance of the field trip. Those in need of a field trip for a large group of students are encouraged to participate.
